According to Threlfall’s GMC50330, Richard Duxford “seems to have been the first of the name to settle in Westmill, Hertfordshire. The name comes from Duxford in Cambridgeshire, which is 6 miles west of Linton and 16 miles NNE of Westmill. What little is known of him comes from his will and the parish register. His wife was Joan, and she was buried 24 September 1616. Richard was buried 23 April 1622, both in Westmill.

“Since the earliest baptisms in the parish register of Westmill start in 1580, there is no certainty that his children were born there. Possibly they were baptized in another parish. An abstract of his will and his inventory follow.”
