Ernst Mayr Inscription from RJO’s Library

RJO’s copy of Ernst Mayr’s The Growth of Biological Thought: Diversity, Evolution, and Inheritance (Cambridge: The Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 1982), inscribed in Mayr’s Museum of Comparative Zoology office, “To Bob O’Hara | with best wishes | Ernst Mayr.” Mayr has been one of the leading evolutionary biologists and ornithological systematists of the twentieth century.
