Diana, Princess of Wales (1961–1997)

Diana, Princess of Wales (1961–1997), was born Lady Diana Frances SPENCER. She married H.R.H. Prince Charles, son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. Diana and I are tenth cousins once removed, and her sons William and Harry are my tenth cousins twice removed, by virtue of our common descent from the Puritan immigrants John COGSWELL and Elizabeth THOMPSON of Wiltshire, England, and Ipswich, Massachusetts. John Cogswell and Elizabeth Thompson are ancestors of many other noted people, including American presidents John ADAMS, John Quincy ADAMS, and Calvin COOLIDGE, authors Ralph Waldo EMERSON, Nathaniel HAWTHORNE, and Julia Ward HOWE, and jurist Oliver Wendell HOLMES [AAP; Notable Kin 1].
