* In late July 2001 the robots.txt file for these two sites was changed in an attempt to prevent the Google imagebot from indexing the sites’ image files. This was apparently done incorrectly and it prevented the regular googlebot from indexing the sites entirely, causing them to effectively disappear from Google for portions of August and September 2001.

** The December 2001 update was widely regarded as an oddity; all inbound links to collegiateway.org disappeared (along with inbound links to many other sites on the web), and the number of pages indexed never settled down to one number across the www, www2, and www3 servers. (The www1 server disappeared.) The drop in incoming links to rjohara.net was largely caused by disappearance of links coming from collegiateway.org.
